Helias Foundation Annual Fund Drive
Release Date: September 25, 2014
Teaming Up For Tomorrow!
The 2014 drive kicked off April 23rd with a breakfast meeting at the school and ended on August 31 having collected $310,000. The Foundation had established an ambitious goal this year of $350,000. As the expenses to operate Helias continue to increase, the Foundation tries to do its part by being more aggressive with its goal to help out.
Barb Sheehan, drive chair, and Jeff Boessen, vice-chair, led Helias Foundation’s 40th Annual Fund drive and the Foundation is thankful for their efforts. Boessen will be the fund drive chair for the 2015 campaign with a vice-chair to be named at later date.
The Helias Foundation is very grateful to all of the community businesses, friends of Helias and alumni who so generously gave to the Annual Fund Drive this year to be a part of our team!
The Annual Fund Drive is an integral part of our mission to support Helias financially. The Foundation uses its endowed funds to make payments to Helias during the school year which Helias uses to offset its general operating expenses; the net effect of which is to reduce the cost of a Helias education
The money collected from the Annual Fund Drive benefits Helias in helping to bridge the gap between the cost of tuition and the actual cost to educate a student. We are thankful to have Helias in our community.
This year’s Jim Rackers Award for the most revenue given to the Annual Fund Drive is the class of 1966 with $15,545.50. In second through fifth places are the classes of 1963, 1979, 1988 and 1968.
This year’s Class of the Year Award, for the greatest class participation, is the class of 1959 followed by the classes of 1962, 1961, 1965 and 1966.
Thank you to everyone who is a part of our team by participating in our fund drive to provide the same quality Catholic education based in faith, knowledge and service to others for current and future Helias students.
Helias Foundation donates new marquee to Helias Catholic High School
Release Date: September 11, 2014: Today, the new marquee donated to Helias Catholic High School was put in place on the brick foundation along with the symbol of our faith, the crucifix.
This state of the art marquee is one of the first of its kind in Jefferson City and is a donation from the Helias Foundation to Helias Catholic High School for the use of both the Foundation and the high school in communicating to their students, alumni, fans and foundation supporters. The design, labor and cost of the marquee brick foundation were donated to the Helias Foundation by local companies.
The new signage will be used by the Foundation to communicate their events to the public, businesses and parents of students in regard to upcoming activities and initiatives, as well as provide support and advertising to their business partners in the Corporate Crusader Sponsorship program and major sponsors of Foundation events.
The high school will use the marquee to communicate to the students, parents, fans and general public of activities and functions at Helias Catholic. The high school will also be able to recognize the achievement of their students and teachers.
Communication is very much visual today with messaging through digital and graphic design. Helias now has that capability. Anything that can be designed through graphics on your laptop or communication device will be able to be placed on the board. The sign will have 24 hour messaging capabilities with 24 hour visual monitoring for security purposes. This same security is also in place for the front of Helias and the new grotto area.
The marquee is a way for the Foundation to help further its mission of supporting long-term financial stability for a quality Helias Catholic education based in faith, knowledge and service to others.
